I've been trying to make videos games for the past decade or so. However it always ends up the same way, I'm not skilled enough to do all the art, programming, music, design etc. So games I make never really feel 'complete'.
I've tried working with other people but I think everyone underestimates how much work a video game takes to make and so the projects always fall apart. Most people who enjoy video games just want to play them, but for me, I'm not satisfied with what's out there.
So my goal is to try and learn all the skills I need to make a video game and see it through to completion. That means creating a company and releasing a video game commercially, not for the money (though it'd be nice to recover my expenses!) but because that's a challenge that I'd love to overcome.
Here on my blog I'm going to be dumping stuff I want to remember, stuff I've learnt, all with the purpose of having something to look back on when I'm struggling with making a game and hopefully something to look back on when I finally succeed and I can say:
